Overview

A growing young family in Washington, DC is looking for a loving and dedicated nanny to care for their two toddlers, a 3-year-old girl and 2-year-old boy and new baby on the way! The parents are both busy working professionals and truly value the contribution their nanny makes. They are looking for a confident and caring candidate who enjoys running point in their busy home. 

 

They live in the idyllic Foxhall neighborhood in Washington, DC close to parks and places to have outdoor adventures. The children also love taking trips into the heart of the city, and already have friends at several of DC's amazing museums! A candidate with a background in early childhood education, who can turn daily outings into learning opportunities would be perfect for this family!

 

The 3-year-old is in preschool in the mornings, and the 1-year-old joins a play group several mornings a week. The nanny will be responsible for the morning routine and getting everyone out the door to their respective classes and activities. The family will occasionally ask for some family assisting, want their nanny to primarily focus on the children. 

 

They are providing a regular M-F schedule, and because they value their quality time together, rarely ask for coverage on the weekends. The schedule will be 7:30am-7:30pm 2 nights a week, 7:30am-5:30pm 2 nights a week, and 7:30am-1:30pm once a week. The family is flexible to build the schedule around the nanny's preference. The family will be paying a competitive hourly rate and overtime. They are also providing full medical benefits and paid time off. 

Responsibilities

  • Care for and engage curious toddlers and a newborn baby
  • Manage schedules and take children to school and their various extracurricular activities
  • Plan enriching activities beyond basic care, including local outings and adventures
  • Assisting the household in: managing schedules, running errands, grocery shopping, occasional meal prep, children's laundry, general picking up around the house, and being proactive and jumping in where needed 
  • Provide educational and developmentally appropriate activities for the children
  • Occasionally travel with the family

Qualifications

  • 2 years full-time professional childcare experience
  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Early childhood education or classroom experience
  • Bright, driven and confident interacting with the children and running a home
  • Demonstrates excellent judgement and ownership in their role
  • A valid passport, driver's license and clean driving record
