Private Educator

Your classroom awaits you in Spain, Costa Rica, and beyond as you join an engaging and adventurous family of six as a private educator for the upcoming academic year. Your students will be four boys ages 7, 9, 10, and 12. This loving and active family values an environment that is fun, engaging and collaborative. They are looking for someone who brings their experience, positivity, and enthusiasm for this adventure to foster educational development and exploration in their sons.

In this role, you will draw on your classroom, tutoring, and private education experience to research and develop a curriculum that utilizes your surroundings to make for a memorable academic year abroad. The family will provide a framework for academic milestones to be met for the four students, but will leave the coursework, lesson planning, games, field trips, and experiments up to you! This family has been happy to travel often and this next adventure is something they are so excited about!

This is a wonderful opportunity for an active, adventurous and self-starting educator. Imagine taking off for the week to surf in Spain, ski in France, and explore Scotland's highlands. Candidates who have experience traveling as an educator or childcare provider will do very well in this role and will be given preference. Having a good sense of surroundings, flexibility to meet challenges and opportunities as they arise, and an eagerness to be an integral part of the family in this memorable experience will be key!

Compensation is generous and commensurate with experience with room and board, travel expenses, paid time off and health care stipend provided. The candidate will have private space in the family’s home bases in Spain and Costa Rica and private accommodations at travel destinations. The family will be returning to the US for the holidays and will be offering paid time off during that time. They are excited to work with the candidate to set a weekly schedule that provides structure while allowing for the spontaneity of life on the road. Some childcare related responsibilities will be required, within reason and with advanced notice. A general attitude of collaboration within the family dynamic will be expected and appreciated.
