  • Overview

Get ready to jet set to Spain, go sailing in the San Juans, take off for skiing in the mountains and travel both internationally and domestically while supporting a loving, engaged, and fun family of three in the Bay Area’s Redwood City!

This California-based family is planning on spending a few months abroad next year and will be thrilled to bring their nanny along for the adventure! In this role you will be much more than a nanny, this mom is excited to find someone who brings their Spanish-speaking, educationally focused, calm, creative, and flexible brand of care to be a live-in member of their family for years to come.

The ideal nanny for this role will be experienced, self-starting, and ready to become a part of this single mom’s team as she raises two bright and curious children, a boy and girl aged 2 and 8 years old. The family speaks Spanish fluently and travels often to visit their family in Spain, so Spanish fluency will be key for this role. A candidate who has a proven ability to engage in educational, child-led play, encourage the children’s creativity, and be a grounded, flexible, and patient addition to this home will be welcomed into this family long-term.

Ideally, you will be able to simulate a preschool experience for the 2-year-old son while the daughter is at school full-time. The little boy has a severe peanut allergy so paying attention to detail and being trained in food allergy preparedness and how to use an EpiPen, or a willingness to learn is of paramount importance for this candidate.

The family has had an au pair who they have so enjoyed their time with for the last18 months and are excited to invite a career nanny to step into this role with the hope of committing for years to come. Private live-in nanny accommodations will be provided at home and while traveling. The weekly schedule will be approximately 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday ideally with help during morning and afternoon/evening routines.

Mom works from home and has the ability to offer flexibility around scheduling for the right person. This family will be excited about a candidate who is interested in sharing mealtimes together when working, a candidate with a love of cooking would be a huge bonus as well! The family employs housekeepers and a candidate who is happy to pitch into an overall tidy and organized environment will be appreciated.

Compensation for this position is $20-28/hour DOE and commensurate with experience. Paid time off, sick days, a monthly healthcare stipend, nanny vehicle, gym membership and other benefits will be offered. The start date for this position is July or August 2018. The family is happy to assist with relocation costs for the perfect candidate.
