  • Overview

A family that shares their time between homes in Venice Beach, California and Vienna, Virginia (just outside of Washington, DC) is looking for a household manager/nanny to take care of their very sweet kids ranging in age from 8 to 15 years old. The position is live-out and will be based out of the home in Virginia and will require regular travel to their home in Venice Beach and other exciting locations where the family provides separate accommodations.

The principal lives in Venice Beach year round and stays at the home in Vienna when he has custody of his three children one weekend each month. The kids also spend two weeks each summer in Venice Beach during which time the nanny/house manager will be asked to work from separate accommodations in Venice Beach. The children also spend a week around Christmas, and at least one other holiday each year in Venice Beach or traveling and you will be asked to join them on these adventures.

In Vienna, Virginia you will be responsible for the management of the home. This includes caring for the property while the family is away, and preparing the home for their arrival monthly. While the family is away you will manage vendors, maintenance and all care of the home, and when the family is in town you will step in as a nanny and family assistant to prepare meals, manage schedules, arrange or provide transportation, keep common areas tidy, and be a steady positive influence on the lovely and cool kids. When the children are in the father's custody the nanny is typically on call to help with morning and evening routines and all other care pertaining to the children.

Several weeks out of the year the children will travel to Venice Beach, California to spend time at their home there or will travel to other fun locations with their father. When the children travel to see their father the nanny travels with them, regularly accompanying them on flights. (They are great and easy travelers!) Each child has their own interests and once you've gotten to know them you will get to plan the itineraries for your getaways - and you can plan some pretty fun stuff! In each location you travel to you will also be allowed to select private accommodations nearby and the family will cover the costs.

This person will work very closely with the principals executive assistant who works out of his office in Los Angeles. As a remote position, someone who is accountable, has excellent time management skills and is self motivated would do well in the role. The position allows for a lot of autonomy and independence as long as the objectives are met.

The family is down to earth and is looking for someone who is easy to get along with, laid back, and on top of things without being over the top.

The compensation is open for the right person and experience. This position is open to relocation candidates who have experience workings as household managers. Valid driver's license and current US Passport are required.
