    A professional, experienced, and engaging private educator is needed to support a young scholar through his 1st-grade year. This position boasts top compensation, guaranteed 25 hours/week, and the opportunity to bring your experience, education, and drive to inspire this intelligent young student!


    The ideal candidate will have wonderful classroom and private education experience while leading this student through math, science, language arts, and reading. In this role, you will set strong boundaries while leaving room for flexibility and variety in the day-to-day to keep your student engaged and on-task. The family follows a provided curriculum and would welcome an educator who comes to the role with the creativity to take the curriculum and run with it. This student does well in a positive and structured setting while providing some variety and flexibility to keep a student with some attention difficulties engaged and on task. A candidate with proven experience successfully mentoring a student with some behavioral challenges and ADHD is key! You will collaborate with the family's child psychologist to implement best practices and care for this student.


    The schedule for this position will be Monday-Friday from 9-2pm. Compensation is $50/hour for the guaranteed 25 hours a week during the academic school year. Each day brings a recess break and lunch provided by the family's personal chef. Time off will be centered around the academic school year. The family lives in Monrovia and a candidate with a reliable vehicle is key. You may sometimes hold lessons at another one of the family's residences and all mileage and driving time will be compensated at your hourly rate. This family has a bustling home with three children, five animals, and are active, funny, caring, and kind. The family employs a nanny team of three as well as a full household staff and no childcare responsibilities outside of your role as an educator will be expected


    This position starts on August 1, 2018 and will carry through the 2019 academic school year. This position is open to candidates who currently reside in a commutable distance of Monrovia, CA. 


    • Developing and teaching homeschool curriculum for the 1st grade
    • Make lesson plans fun, engaging and effective
    • Providing a safe and loving environment for the child to learn and grow
    • Working with parents and provided curriculum to develop and promote the best methods of learning
    • Be a great role model for the young student


    • At least 4 years of professional academic experience, preferably in a homeschooling environment
    • Teaching accreditation and teaching references
    • Experience working with students with ADHD or behavioral issues preferred
    • Bachelor’s degree
    • Positive references detailing team player attitude
    • Discreet and comfortable around high profile families
    • CPR Certified
