  • Overview

An artistic and easygoing family in New Orleans is seeking an emotionally intelligent, flexible nanny to care for their five-year-old boy for many years to come. Playful, enthusiastic, and a dreamer, they hope to find someone who can keep up with their child in the imagination department and can give him the room to lead the way in his growth and learning through play and creativity. Someone who can intuit when it’s time for play or time to be a calm and peaceful presence in the home will be someone this family is excited to share their home with for the long haul.

Based in New Orleans, this family’s artistic lifestyle keeps them on the go and always incorporating fun and creativity into their daily lives. The typical schedule for their nanny will consist of dropping their child off to school in the mornings from 8am-9am and after school care from 3:30pm-9pm on Mondays through Fridays, as well as a full day of fun and activities on Saturdays from 10am-9pm. They hope to find someone who is also flexible to stick around for the occasional late-night coverage.

While finding someone who is excited to live in New Orleans is very important to this family, they also travel for both business and leisure and hope to find someone who is excited to join them! From occasionally visiting their second home in Canada to providing care while the family travels for work, someone who is comfortable with traveling is a must! Additionally, someone who is comfortable swimming and caring for children around water is key, as their son loves to swim while traveling!

In addition to caring for their five-year-old, this candidate will ideally be enthusiastic about lending a helping hand in order to keep their household running smoothly. Though this family has a personal assistant, they hope their future nanny will be able to perform several household duties including the occasional grocery run, any childcare-related errands, managing their son’s activities schedule and providing transportation to and from all activities, tidying the kitchen, assisting with laundry for the family, and helping with homework for their kindergarten-aged son. This family also speaks multiple languages in their home, so a candidate who is fluent in French or Haitian Creole is a huge plus!

This is a full-time live-in position in New Orleans, LA that will incorporate frequent traveling in the years to come. Accommodations will be provided for their nanny in the form of a one-bedroom detached apartment on the family’s property. They are offering $20-$30 an hour depending on experience, paid overtime, and a family vehicle if needed. This position is open to all Adventure Nannies candidates who are legally able to work in the United States, and possess a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and valid passport.
